Caitlin Dyes is an experienced fashion designer with a demonstrated history of working in the textile and apparel industry. With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Apparel Design from University of Delaware, an Associate of Arts degree in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), and heavy concentration in fashion design and garment construction, Caitlin is well rounded and carries strong skill sets that are easily transferable to most entry level design positions. Caitlin’s experience has a broad perspective in several facets of the fashion industry to include her background in public relations, sales, merchandising, and planning, which have helped her gain a deeper understanding of the industry as whole in relation to design. In recent years, Caitlin has put her focus into purposeful, user centric apparel designing that challenges her to think beyond the normal expectations of fashion and continues to pursue solution based design opportunities. Caitlin has assisted with a multitude of innovative and progressive projects at her current design position with Dr. Martha Hall Designs. She has conducted thorough research on adaptive childrenswear for kids with disabilities and successively designed a line of adaptive jeans to aid in independent dress and self-expression. Caitlin has also created garments for individuals with loss of muscular functionality, assisting in the design of the PlayskinLift, an exoskeletal garment to assist upper extremity mobility and function. Caitlin is currently leading in design of functional transgender women’s lingerie that supports desired gender presentation. Caitlin’s mission is to continue working towards the betterment of each person she designs for, ultimately bringing confidence to those who wear her garments.
